    The complaint to the Commission for the Control of INTERPOL's Files was accompanied by a detailed memorandum on the breach of the INTERPOL rules that prohibit politically motivated alerts.

    Protection while the complaint was pending

    In parallel, protection was secured in the country of residence, with coordination of independently licensed counsel on the ground to forestall any detention.

    Decision of the CCF

    The Commission found the complaint well founded and ordered the deletion of the Red Notice as contrary to Article 3 of INTERPOL's Constitution, which prohibits politically motivated alerts.
